This scheme involved growing from seed over 150,000 wetland plants for the final filtration of sewage at the waste water treatment works in Ballykelly, Londonderry.
Plants were grown in root trainers at our nursery over an 18month period in advance of construction of the reed bed tanks.
Under challenging conditions our contracting team planted out the beds and the water was turned on.
The planting established quickly with a dense covering of plants throughout the reed beds.
